# How to use the Christmas Gifts Planner in Notion

## Quick start

1. Replace the sample recipients: open a gift, click Recipient, choose Edit property, and swap in your real names.
2. In the All Gifts view, select the 10 sample gift entries and delete them.
3. Click + New to add your own gift ideas with recipient, status, budget, category, priority, link, notes and deadline.
4. Move each gift through the stages as you go, from Idea to Delivered.

### What does the Christmas Gifts Planner track?

### How do I replace the sample recipients?

Open any gift, click the Recipient property, and at the bottom of the dropdown click Edit property. Replace the sample names with your real recipients, and add, edit or delete options as needed. Adding the relationship, like "John (Dad)", keeps things organized.

### How do I delete the sample gift data?

The template includes 10 sample gift ideas. Go to the All Gifts view, select all the sample entries using the checkbox on the left, and delete them with the Delete key or by right-clicking and choosing Delete.

### What are the five gift statuses?

💡 Idea (brainstorming), 🛒 To Buy (ready to purchase), ✅ Purchased (bought and waiting), 🎁 Wrapped (wrapped and ready), and 🎉 Delivered.

### What views does the Christmas Gifts Planner include?

All Gifts is a table of everything. By Status is a board grouped by stage. By Recipient is a board grouped by person, handy for checking the budget per person. There is also a Gallery view for a visual overview.

### How do I track my gift budget?

Enter an amount in the Budget property, which formats as currency. Use filters to see gifts within a price range, or sort by budget to find your most expensive gifts. The By Recipient board helps you check spending per person.

### Can I add my own gift categories?

Yes. Edit the Category property to add gift types such as Gift Cards, Subscriptions or Donations. You can also add properties like store name or return policy.
