Make a Notion countdown timer widget

Name your event, set the date and time, and copy the link. The countdown shows days, hours, minutes and seconds.

In Notion, type /embed, paste the link, and resize the block to fit.

Add a countdown to your Notion page

A Notion countdown widget shows how many days, hours, minutes and seconds are left until a date that matters: a product launch, an exam, a wedding, a trip, or New Year.

Name your event, pick the date and time, and choose whether to show seconds. When the date arrives you can show your own message, or switch the widget to count up and see how long it has been since.

Make one widget per event and place them side by side in Notion for a clear view of what is coming.

Add a widget to Notion in four steps

  1. Step 1

    Choose a widget

Open the widget you need from the list.

  2. Step 2

    Customize it

Change the options and colours. The preview updates as you go.

  3. Step 3

    Copy the link

Use the copy button under the preview.

  4. Step 4

    Embed it in Notion

In Notion, type /embed on a page, paste the link, and resize the block.

Notion Countdown Widget questions

Which time zone does the countdown use?

The date and time you enter are read in the time zone of whoever views the page, so a countdown to midnight ends at midnight for each viewer.

What happens when it reaches zero?

It shows the message you write in the generator, such as "Launch day!"

How do I make a countdown widget in Notion?
